John was born and raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Spending his youth in an area where guns and hunting were daily life lead to a passion for firearms that expanded to all things weapon related. He's been studying martial weaponry since 1997. For 5 years he assisted a dealer in selling medieval weaponry. His love of knives drew him back to working with metal after a stint in film school. After being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, he's taken a more digital focus but hasn't forgotten his roots in metal-work and now works making small jewelry and knives.
John's fibromyalgia has forced him to ease back in the world of metalwork and propmaking to work on digital design. He's expanded his skill with logo design and Adobe Illustrator while improving his Photoshop repertoire editing photos of his jewelry and knives.
He started his college career with a year at Michigan Technological University studying theatre before taking a year at Minneapolis College of Art and Design. He spent a year living and breathing art in Minneapolis before returning to Michigan to Northern Michigan University for metalsmithing.
